Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2 April 2026
1. Who we are
Nter-Compu Systems Ltd ("we", "us", "our") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website and in the course of providing communications and network technology services to corporate clients in the United Kingdom. Our registered office is St James's Tower, 1 Charlotte Street, Manchester M1 4ET. Company number 09218473. VAT registration: GB 287 430 916. For privacy-specific enquiries, email hello@ntercompu.co.uk with "Privacy" in the subject line.
2. What personal data we collect
We may collect and process the following categories of personal data:
- Identity and contact data: name, job title, employer name, work email address, telephone number, and postal address when you submit forms, sign contracts, or correspond with us.
- Technical data: internet protocol (IP) address, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types and versions, operating system, and platform, collected through server logs and (where you consent) analytics tools.
- Usage data: information about how you use our website, including pages visited, time on page, and referral source, when analytics cookies are accepted.
- Marketing and communications data: your preferences in receiving marketing from us (we rarely send cold marketing; most contact is transactional).
- Contract and service data: details you provide about your organisation's infrastructure, projects, and requirements, which may include limited personal data of your colleagues if you supply it.
3. Legal bases for processing (UK GDPR)
We process personal data only where a lawful basis applies:
- Contract: where processing is necessary to perform a contract with you or your employer, or to take steps at your request before entering a contract (for example, preparing a proposal).
- Legitimate interests: where necessary for our legitimate interests in running a technology services business, securing our systems, analysing website traffic in an aggregated form, and defending legal claims — balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation: where we must comply with law, including tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.
- Consent: where we rely on consent (for example, non-essential cookies or certain marketing), you may withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
4. How we use your personal data
We use personal data to respond to enquiries and quote requests, deliver and manage services, invoice and collect payment, manage our relationship with clients, improve our website, send service-related notices, comply with legal duties, and protect our rights and property. We do not sell personal data. We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects on individuals.
5. Third-party services
We may use service providers who process data on our instructions (processors), including hosting providers, email delivery services, and — if you accept analytics cookies — Google Analytics (with IP anonymisation where available) and Google Tag Manager to aggregate usage statistics. Google may transfer data outside the UK; where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or addendum. Marketing and advertising pixels may be loaded only after cookie consent. We do not allow third parties to use your data for their own unrelated purposes.
6. Cookies
Our site uses strictly necessary cookies required for security and basic operation. If you click "Accept all", we may set analytics or functional cookies to remember preferences and measure traffic. You can change your mind by clearing site data in your browser or contacting us. Our cookie banner explains the choice between necessary-only and full acceptance. For more detail on each category, contact us using the email above.
7. Data retention
We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes collected. Indicative periods: website form submissions and sales leads — up to twenty-four months after last contact unless a longer period is needed for an active contract dispute; contract and billing records — up to seven years after the end of the tax year to which they relate, in line with UK record-keeping practice; server logs — typically ninety days unless extended for security investigation. Retention may be longer where law requires.
8. Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your personal data; rectify inaccurate data; erase data in certain circumstances; restrict processing; object to processing based on legitimate interests (including direct marketing); data portability (where processing is by automated means and based on consent or contract); and not be subject solely to automated decisions with legal or similar significant effects. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF (ico.org.uk).
9. How to exercise your rights
Email hello@ntercompu.co.uk or write to our Manchester address. We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within one calendar month; complex requests may be extended by up to two further months where permitted by law, and we will explain any delay.
10. Security
We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the risk, including TLS encryption for this site where hosted with HTTPS, access controls for internal systems, and staff training on data handling. No transmission over the internet is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. International transfers
Our primary processing takes place in the United Kingdom. If we transfer personal data outside the UK, we ensure a valid transfer mechanism under UK GDPR (such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, or the UK Addendum) and conduct assessments where required.
12. Children
Our services are aimed at businesses. This website is not intended for children under sixteen, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe we have collected a child's data, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect legal, technical, or business changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we publish a revision. Material changes may be highlighted on the website or communicated where appropriate.
14. Data from third parties
Sometimes we receive personal data about you from your employer (for example, when they name you as a technical contact on a purchase order) or from publicly available professional sources such as a company website. We treat such data under the same principles as data you give us directly and will tell you the source if you ask during a subject access request.
